Rubber rumble strips are transverse raised strips that create audible and tactile vibration warnings as vehicle tyres pass over them, alerting drivers to an upcoming speed-management or hazard zone without forcing vehicles to come to a complete stop.
Unlike speed bumps that require vehicles to slow to near-stop speeds, rubber rumble strips are designed for vehicle speeds of 40–80 km/h, providing warning and encouraging speed reduction rather than enforcing a stop.
They are available in two models with different profile heights for different vehicle speeds and warning intensity requirements.
Key Specifications:
– Available in Model A – low-profile warning strip
– Available in Model B – higher-profile speed reduction strip
– Transverse installation across the full lane width
– Bolt-down installation using expansion bolts
– Yellow and black retroreflective colour scheme
– Effective at vehicle approach speeds of 40–80 km/h
– Multiple strips can be installed in sequence for progressive speed reduction
– Individual strips can be replaced when required
